Negative experience: I took Car on rent from Self Drive 1 year Ago for 2 Months. They took a deposit and since 1 year they are not giving my deposit back. I have written e mails that they will return the deposit but still not recieved the money back . I warn the customers of these companies who never return the deposit on time. this is the difference between International Companies and this company
Negative experience: Such a waste rent a car.My experience with this rent-a-car service was extremely disappointing.single star i can give only due to the car condition.The customer service was abysmal, with unprofessional and unhelpful staff who seemed disinterested in addressing concerns. The rental process was unnecessarily complicated, leading to frustration and wasted time. Overall, I cannot recommend this service due to its unimpressive customer service, and inefficient processes.
Negative experience: I get charged for three hours same as 7 days in any other company.

They double charge my car rent without any reason and since one month they don’t want to refund the money. 4 months to refund security deposit due to cheap app or system they use. Negative experience: I book A car and they take 2000 deposit without any consent I make cancellation same time next day morning they called me to deliver the car to my place I tell him that I already cancelled last night and asked him about my refund he said to me with 4 to 5 days after one week I called them again the funny thing my booking not cancelled in the system still after that they said to me tomorrow will receive your money after that no body answer my call again now almost 2 month's.The problem my schedule super busy I don't have time to go office but I will do that very soon but with police

Negative experience: Selfdrive are cheaters. I strongly recommend not to take cars from them. They deduct any amount as per their wish. It's been more than a month and I have not received my deposit and the extra month amount which they have taken for an extra month without my consent. Negative experience: It's a fraudulent company. They'll charge the amount & cancel the booking without any reason & apply 10% cancellation charges. You won't be able to get back your security deposit & upfront rental after cancellation. I'm struggling from past several days in order to get my refund back. Dubai govt & regulators should take serious action against this fraudulent company. It's hurting the soft image of Dubai.
Negative experience: such a horrible and third rated cheaters the self drove company is. Fraudulent company all the customer service executives i spoken to are cheaters. Made my car reservation paid all the charges I was promised that car will be delivered next day morning 10 am then i called at 10 am since car was not delivered at the said time, these scammers told me that car will be delivered by 12 and then 1 o clock again I made a call they said it will be delivered by 3PM. one of the worst car rentals I have ever come across. Never ever opt for this cheaters frauds.

Negative experience: If there would be a zero start I would do it. This company is the worst I made a booking one week before the day of rent and on the day when I would have picked up the car they call me and they say the booking is canceled, when I ask why they couldn’t give me any explanation and they left me without car and waiting to get the money back for days
Negative experience: Firstly when you show interest in their website they hound you to make a payment without sending you an email. But even after booking with them a car thru the app to be dropped off at 4pm and it has not yet arrived.
Negative experience: Unbelievable and unacceptable service. I paid in full through the app for a next day delivery. Never happened for four days. There call center does not pick up and no one cares. Don't use them.

Negative experience: AVOID SELFDRIVE AT ALL COST I rented a car, did not like it and asked for an upgrade. The sub contractor DIAMOND LEASE forced me to sign to get an upgrade but ended up lying to me just get stuck with the car. SELFDRIVE barely answers the phone, and if it does they barely speak English. Went to the office and dealt with the Managers none of the could speak English properly. NO HELP AT ALL. There was multiple other people complaining and no one got their issue solved. DO NOT RECOMMEND. Bad service, everyone is rude and not helpful - you are better off going to a smaller company.

Negative experience: I’m giving one star because lower than that isn’t possible. Horrible company to deal with. I was charged one month auto extension even before the return time and date. They also don’t refund your deposit for 30 days which is actually more than 45 days because it’s working days and will still not refund this automatically unless you call them to demand it. Apparently it’s in the policy fine print. Horrible experience really!

A rental fee and a deposit were taken off my card but no car in sight and no one to speak to on the phone. The entire operation is based in India, as is their call centre. I'll be making my way to the police station pronto and the complaint to consumer affairs has already been submitted. I suggest you cancel your credit/debit card and have a new one issued just in case they try to keep deducting money every month. Beware of these foreign online startups and go rent from reputable and well-established local agencies. But, I'll make sure a formal compaint has been submitted against them.
Negative experience: am a victim of their services . Some friends warned me that I'd need to make countless calls to get my security deposit back, and they were right. It took a frustrating 50 days after I returned the car to receive my deposit. To be on the safe side, I dropped the car off a day early, but to my surprise, I was charged an additional AED 1500 for another month. every time I had to endure a 15 to 30-minute wait on hold to reach their customer service. They assured me a refund, but when I followed up a week later, they gave me the runaround. I strongly recommend avoiding this app and instead consider using traditional car rental agencies.

Negative experience: Avoid at all costs. They don't reply to emails, and if you manage to get through they are either rude and unhelpful or they tell you have pressed the wrong option and call back. Oh and several "charges" have appeared on my account, which they will not, or cannot explain what they are for. Also, I have now spent the last 3 days trying to get hold of someone to collect the vehicle at the end of the lease. Its almost as if they don't want the vehicle returned on time. Please avoid. They may appear cheap but it will cost you in the long run

They wait for the last day of the contract to make another debit on the card. still waiting for the call they promised to resolve the problem after 10 days they still haven't resolved it.

The day already passed and they didn't even deliver the car and the 3rd party agent didn't receive the confirmation from the reservation team!!

Negative experience: Hello. You guys really have a problem. Communication is TERRIBLE. My husband rented a car and he was sent an email with the location to GEELY showroom to pick up the car at 1 pm. It’s 2:30 pm now and we still have no update on the car. GEELY is telling us there is no car available and your team is telling us to wait 5 minutes and they will solve the issue. WELL, it’s been 15 minutes and we are still waiting. Ridiculous. Your CEO should be more involved in the day-to-day operations, as it’s apparent that the team is unable to keep track of bookings and handle effective communication with external third party partners/suppliers. We have NEVER had a positive experience with selfdrive after a whole TWO YEARS of booking with you guys. We don’t even know why we come back lol. Lesson learnt, we are NEVER using selfdrive again. What a shame. Dear potential customer that is reading this review, please do not move forward. The service is SO horrible I cannot even describe it.

Negative experience: These guys are hardly what they say they are. Super rude customer service especially this lady called Maris who goes on repeat with standard procedures and answers and doesn't really answer any questions but can get agitated when you want a straight answer. The first time I took a car and returned it, it was straight forward. The second time I took a car and returned it on time, I got charged auto renewal fees which apparently happened not because of their mistake, but because I didn't call and tell them that I was returning the car on time. Of course, that was not there the first time around, but it is there this time around. Their motto seems to be "The customer is always wrong" Long story short, it should be resolved in 3-5 working days. 7 days have past and my credit statement has been issued already so I need to account for an additional expense that was never budgeted. You raise this on their website and no one really bothers to acknowledge or reply and I am pretty sure it will be there same as well.
Negative experience: C’est une centrale de réservation qui pratique des prix prohibitifs sur les kilomètres additionnels. Faites attention quand vous louez chez eux … le km supplémentaire va être facturé 0.5 omr à la place de 0.05… même le loueur en direct m’a dit que c’était une erreur . Selfdrive n’a jamais voulu reconnaître leur erreur malgré plusieurs appels du loueur, de moi même et plus d’une heure de discussion sur WhatsApp. Heureusement j’ai pu annuler ma réservation. Mais ils m’ont facturé 10% du montant … bref je ne recommande pas du tout. Recherchez plutôt des loueurs locaux qui seront au moins transparents dès le début alors que self drive fera tout pour vous arnaquer. Ah et en plus … ils ne proposent que 150 km gratuits par jour de location vs 200 pour les autres loueurs. J’oubliais l’annulation est gratuité oui … mais avec une pénalité de 10%.

Negative experience: Do not rent a car from this app. They “might” fool you with low prices but once you return the car, they will charge you for damages from previous renters. I lost half of my deposit because of damages i didnt cause and their support team is so unprofessional and unskilled that you dont get any clear explanation from them

Negative experience: Horrible! Refund of security deposit is a total mess and sounds more like a scam. They just don't want to return the security "deposit" despite several complaints. Oh and the call center doesn't have any manager or supervisor to escalate the matter.
Negative experience: Worse experience i ever had very bad service, i need to call 5 times to get an answer for what i want when the call center tell you we will call you back 100% they will not, i called 3 times to make sure i'm getting my refund on 26 of July and when i called on 27 where is my refund...... No answer for why i didn't get it that's simply means Unprofessional they don't do thier job and again the only sentence we will call you back sir. Rating 1 star is too much.

Negative experience: Do not rent from this company. The company keeps your deposit 30 days after you return the car. No one responds the calls. What’s the reason not to return the deposit immediately after car was submitted?
Negative experience: Don’t rent a car from this Company! This is not a rental car company. They will take your deposit and never give it back. As well they will not answer calls from your number after you return the car! Pls someone should call the police for that company!!!!!!!
Negative experience: A fraud company that swallowed every person’s deposit and never show up to return. Boycott this company. Just like other’s we also fell into this well. Instead of sharing our experience. Better to complaint and get league action against this company.

Negative experience: Very Bad Services and Very Aggressive Sales. In terms of money they will take all on time.. But in terms of return... Even their promise time 30 days working Days.. They return after 40-50 working days.. One of the worst rent a car firm... They putting offer for 999 once we book.. And they deduct all money after that they saying the car is not available and this offer is finished so other car is available with high rate... As per the rule they follow their benefits and interms of customer.. They very unresponsive and very rude and very bad in service.... NEVER EVER TAKE ANY CAR FROM THIS RENTAL FIRM.. SELFDRIVE ..IS PLAYING WITH CUSTOMER MONEY.. SO DONT EVER RECOMMEND TO ANYONE.. WHOEVER AGREE ON MY STATEMENT COMMENT AND SUPPORT.. LET THE OTHER PEOPLE UNDERSTAND THEIR CHEATING..
Negative experience: Most unprofessional and worse service from any car rental company in UAE. I rented a car and returned it on exact date and there was this refund amount of AED1500+ which I was supposed to get but it took them over 3 months to process and most annoying part is I had to go to their supporting company LEGENDS cars in Al Quoz who then directed me to SELF DRIVE HQ in DSO and with a fake apology their staff just came back after a quick 10 min checking giving the explanation “sorry there was a glitch in the system which our staff never realized” REALLY?? 3 months I’ve been emailing and sending WhatsApp msgs to them and they couldn’t figure out? Either their system is useless or their staff doesn’t know what they are doing. Wasted 3 months of my time following up and half my day driving to their offices to get my money back. If anyone looking for car rentals I highly suggest don’t go for SELF DRIVE!!
Negative experience: I’ve returned the car since 24th of april but until now refund for the deposit still not given. No answer, no reply and no care at all. There low rental price will just lead you to a lot of headache and troubles in future. @SelfDrive care to return my deposit?? Please do not rent a car here! If there’s an option for no star, I’ll go for it

Negative experience: Booked and paid for a black edition car for my wife for one month 3k rental and 2k deposit. Obviously you need to pay up front. The car was delivered not a black edition top of the range model but the most basic model. My wife didn’t know. They didn’t even have the decency to tell us and now I’m chasing 4 days to get the car I paid for. This is the worst customer service I have ever received, they make promises they can’t keep. Stay well clear of this company.
Negative experience: They are standing totally opposite the customers. If you’re thinking the rent a car from this company please read terms and condition carefully. I rented car them for a month and i wanted to cancel my rent after 2 days (with 0 km usage). And you can understand what they said to me from the rate which i gave. Totally time and money wasting. After long mailing and phone conversations, i’ve opened complain because they’re not able to provide proof which i signed the contract.
Negative experience: Please don't go with self drive. Calling to their customer service is waste of time and horrible. I have been waiting for the refund and its been 2 months stills not credited. They deducting money from credit card and also from security deposit in the name of salik and never giving the proof. I feel like absolute Scam.

Negative experience: TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE AGENT (the male one who claimed to be a manager) he literally hung up on me after using an aggressive tone. Car handover was canceled twice. Only received refund after I filed a complaint with Dubai consumer rights ! SAVE YOUR TIME AND ENERGY DO NOT USE SELF DRIVE !
Negative experience: I am having issues getting my security deposits even after 37 days of returning the car. There have been no help from email support or whatsapp support or call. Also they deduct certain amount of money from my bank and there is no clearance why that money was deducted. The fuel when I returned was half a bar less which is 6.5 AED and they deducted 86 AED on it, I would imagine if they charged 25 AED as a fuel charge which will give them 5 bars, honestly 86 AED on fuel charge “self drive” :( Please if someone can assist in getting my security deposit back as I am starting to feel that I do not get them back now.
Negative experience: They are the worst car rental in the UAE. They will deduct you 1000 AED for the deposit and you need to waste your time calling and writing an email for them to return. The worst part its not returned yet. They have a very bad customer support. I was trying to call them for cancellation but nobody is answering from their given contact number. Waste of mobile money and time.
Negative experience: I wish I read the reviews before booking the car. It’s been way more than 30 days and I am still waiting for my deposit, moreover even after multiple emails to them regarding the deductibles, there has been no response. They are openly scamming people
Negative experience: More than 2 months have passed and i have not received my deposit back yet ,called call centre several time every time they are saying within 48 hrs u will get back ur deposit,get ready to loose ur deposit if u book through them. Avoid this fraud car company.
Negative experience: I would never recommend #selfdrive company to any one of my known, friends, relatives and even to everyone who are planning to get a car on rent. #selfdrive people are so unprofessional, once you return the car, #Selfdrive make you waiting for your refunds as long as possible, I have been waiting for more than 2months, they say 30 working days so that they can make you count all the holidays and weekends, they are pathetic, their services are rediculous. Kindly do not consider them while I am writing this feedback, I am holding a call for 15 minutes... Getting no response, because your account is in #self-drive control they debit your bank account without any prior nformation ...
Negative experience: This company DOES NOT deserve a star let alone. They're by far THE WORST rental company in the UAE.. I've already raised a complaint to the Consumer's rights due to their failure of paying my safety deposit back. And the nerve they have to treat customers horribly after they ask for the safety deposit. I advise everyone to report this company to the consumer's right for their incompetent work and failure to adhere to their policies.
