Negative experience: Absolutely shocking, I rented a car from Self-drive for a month. I returned it at the end of the month. They confirmed that they received the car. 2 hours later on the same day the made an unauthorized charge from my credit card for 1600 AED. They charged for another month when the car is back to them. I contacted them, they apologised and said it must be a mistake and they will refund this money. It has been more than 2 weeks and still there is no refund. I emailed them and called them several times but no answer. They changed the mobile number that they gave me at the start. I had to take this to the authorities, so I reported it the tourist police and to the Consumer Right Now, I'm waiting to here from them. Save your time, money and stress and go to a reputative business where you can trust.

The car provided was dirty, not a full tank of fuel, damaged, warning lights on, and due for service. Ring to book service and they advise just to keep driving. Negative experience: Total scam avoid this company at all cost They charge you the car rent without even asking for documents such as driving license and surprise you also need to pay 2000 AED deposit to complete your car rent and when you try to call them to cancel the booking I spend over an hour twice and every time someone disconnect the call. I’m going to file a police report if I don’t get my money back.

Negative experience: This company should shut down. Booked a car from them, took the car rental charge for 1 month + 1000 AED as deposit and the car didn't show up. When I called them, they tell me very casually that the car is not available and they say they'll send it the next day IF its available. Very irresponsible girl at the reception. Negative experience: Received uncleaned car with expired mulkiya. The car model was as described. Delivery was fine but Pickup was significantly delayed. Worse part is that it is over 30 days and still no refund, daily follow up but no response from anyone on the refund
Negative experience: And to add to my previous poor experience, they then charged me for a 1,750 AED repair cost and did not deduct my initial 1000 AED security deposit. One number on the email they send isn’t even registered, the other resulted in a 20 minute wait with no answer. Emails go unanswered. The whole experience is just frustrating. I would once again recommend anyone to avoid this company.

Self drive cancelled the booking by itself and it’s been more than a month I have not received the refund. Already reminded twice and don’t see any intention of the company to refund the money. Negative experience: They charge you in split seconds, but then avoid you for service. Takes years to reach someone if car needs maintenance. And no replacement/reimbursement, they don't care since your money are already in their pocket.

The comments talking about the security deposit are true. 2 months later they still haven't returned the deposit and when I called and stayed 15 minutes waiting on the line they said they were waiting for my call to process the refund. Negative experience: Never take the car from Selfdrive. They will collect the deposit and they would take months to provide the refund. I have been following up with them quite a while. But till now they didn't refund my money. I took my car in April'23 and returned back in the same month. Now its Jun'23. Lets see how long they would take it to refund back. I would update this review once I receive the deposit.

Negative experience: VERY terrible service, the return department deceives people and promises and does not fulfill, especially SHAKHRUKH scoffs at all customers, does not return money on time, withdraw money from the account without consent, deposit money must be returned in 30 days, but they are returned after two months explaining that 30 business days, holidays and so on. in all normal returns specifically on the 30th day after the return of the car. This company is losing its customers because of such employees. I do not advise anyone to waste your nerves and time. Never USE!

They have charged me for an extra month without even asking me if I need the car or not. Plus I have returned the car with half fuel tank, for which they charged me the same money as Full tank. Negative experience: I booked a car with this company and then cancelled it. After them deducting a cancellation fee of 10% of the total booking, they said they will refund the money to my account within 3-5 working days. It is now passed the time they said they would’ve done the refund and after calling them and asking about it, they said they will get back to me next week. The woman on the call got aggravated after I expressed my frustration with the company for not following their word. Would not recommend dealing with a company like this.
